Dr. Stanley Monteith, M.D., of Radio Liberty, tells us that doctors are retiring early or leaving patient care every month because of the looming national health care program. Along that vein, the headline in the Washington Times, February 2012, was ‘Obamacare’ Health Care Reform ALREADY Forcing Doctors to Close Practices.  The all caps emphasis is theirs!

Doctors are talking about “retiring early, getting out of clinical medicine, or going into hospital administration where you don’t have to think about patient care anymore,” said Dr. Richard Armstrong, a Michigan surgeon and chief operating officer of Docs 4 Patient Care, which opposes the Affordable Care Act. They further report that “a survey of 13,575 doctors by the Physicians Foundation found that 77 percent were pessimistic about the future of medicine.” Doctors do not like the idea that someone else will be telling them how to treat their patients, or even whether they CAN treat a patient.  Some say that that defeats the reason that they went into medical practice.

Well we don’t claim to know what is ahead for medicine either.  But we do know that for about 99 and 99/100 percent of us, our health is in our own hands. Since we do not know what we are facing in the area of a national health program, we consider it a priority to build our immune system to the point where we need neither doctors nor prescriptions. That, our friends, is freedom. We are not free if we can’t live where we want because we are dependent on our doctor, our pharmacist, and the hospital.

The sad thing is that we have been so thoroughly marketed by the medical industry that most of us have little faith that independence is even possible. We hope that over the next few months we can give you information and confidence that this goal is well within your reach. It can take time to build self-discipline, but you can do it.

This writer previously shared the account of her own recovery in 1992 from basil cell carcinoma, an abdominal tumor the size of an orange, arthritis and asthma, by going back to God’s original plan for health—fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and grains, mostly in their natural form, and two quarts of carrot juice and one quart of green juice every single day. If we will make the changes, recovery can be surprisingly fast. All symptoms were gone in four and a half months. The asthma had existed from age 3. Three years later we got worried because of the dire warnings of the surgeon when we decided to postpone surgery, so I went back to check on the tumor. Along with everything else, it was gone.

The body has incredible power to heal if we just start giving it what it needs to rebuild dying cells, and stop putting toxins into it. Add some exercise daily, get the right amount of sleep at the right time of night, get daily sunshine for vitamin D or add fish liver oil and you will be amazed at the result.

My own husband fell ill with cancer in 1977 at age 42. The panic that I felt was indescribable. We had no idea how to deal with it. He refused traditional treatment and told me he would take whatever time he had left. So of course I looked for another solution. We learned of his tumor in May and the first part of February, he was gone.  We knew that it was very advanced.

As a result I kept reading and learning about people who had recovered from cancer without surgery or chemo.  I found that there were many. Dr. Ann Wigmore, N.D., Dr. Max Gerson, M.D., and others had been extremely successful with cancer patients, and most of the people who came to them and recovered had been given up by the medical profession. For years, I bought organic vegetables and fruit from a man in Homestead, Florida, who had had a two page spread in the Homestead News Leader about his recovery from colon cancer after being given up by the medical doctors. I talked to him at length about what he had done. Most tell the same story—as he did–a return to a natural, mostly raw diet, preferably organic (although I did not have access to all organic for my recovery), some exercise, sunshine, rest, and lots of freshly made vegetable (not fruit) juice.

When my diagnosis came, the doctor called my sister-in-law in from the waiting room to be with me when he delivered the verdict. She had graciously driven me to the doctor because of my weakness. Later she said, “Arlean, I have never seen anyone accept a diagnosis like that as calmly as you have.” It was because I was not scared to death. I was a different person from the wife who heard her husband’s diagnosis while totally in the dark with no known recourse but the medical route.  Now . . . . I had knowledge.  And knowledge is a wonderful thing!

We at FFJ hope to give YOU knowledge that will build your confidence and make it possible for you to be independently healthy if you choose to be. It is a choice.  Having discovered that fact never ceases to amaze us here. Good health, in almost every case, is a choice. You can take the chemicals that mask the symptoms and continue to make you even sicker with side effects that eventually require another medication to control the symptoms of the side effects that resulted from the first medication . . . . or you can return to God’s plan for genuine health. We are not suggesting here that you discontinue any medication until you have built your immune system to the place where you no longer need medications. Your doctor will know when that time comes.  (That was the disclaimer. We do not give medical advice here, we only tell you about our own experiences).

Just to encourage you further, our deep thanks go to a subscriber, Judith Thompson, who graciously took the time to send us her story.  In her own words, she reports that, “In 1988 I went in for those routine woman tests, including my first mammogram. I was outraged, to say the least, when I underwent that ridiculous procedure. How could ‘pummeling’ my breasts be sensible? When my results came back, I was told that I had to go through more tests because all of my tests came out positive for cancer.

“My young doctor called me repeatedly to tell me I HAD to see the cancer specialists. Finally, after praying at length, crying my eyes blind, I told him I was going an alternative route. My husband was working for a lab in Pendleton, Oregon, at that time. Every single day he was transporting breasts from hospitals to labs. Women were losing breasts at an alarming rate. I determined I was NOT going to be one of them. Our family had been riddled with cancer. My young girl cousins were diagnosed and some died way too early. One cousin had both breasts removed when one was cancerous.

“I went to an alternative chiropractic/naturopathic doctor in Portland. He sent me to an alternative doctor in Seattle. That old fellow probed me through and through, then recommended that I

1) Lose weight

2) Eat fresh, raw, fruits and vegetables

3) Cut down on stress

4) Eat less meat.

“I can’t remember if he told me anything else but I remember this. The American Medical Association drummed him out of the medical profession very soon after my visit.

“I am 73 now, at my right weight, eating Uruguayan fresh, local, organic fruits and vegetables (mostly raw). The first chiropractic/ND had told me the vital importance of exercise. I have failed miserably in that department.”

The medical doctor that I followed in my own recovery, Dr. Loraine Day, M.D., had also been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. In her case she had two unsuccessful surgeries and was sent home to die. She refused chemo and radiation because, as she said, every doctor knows that chemo and radiation cause cancer. So why would you do that when you already have cancer? Dr. Day recovered and is in good health today at age 76 and just welcomed her twin grandbabies into the world. As I recall she was 60 when she was diagnosed.

We realize the idea of transitioning to mostly raw food and a natural lifestyle is a pretty unorthodox idea for most westerners. The reason for eating so much in its natural state is that we now know enzymes are very important for health and when you heat food, you not only destroy vitamins, you destroy the enzymes.

And yet there are many resources for information and really delicious raw recipes. You’ll be surprised.

Here at FFJ we depend a lot on a book that is now out of print, Diet and Salad Suggestions by N. W. Walker.  But if you are interested, you can get it used from sites like www.alibris.com.  Also, one web site that we recommend for encouraging testimonies, information and really great recipes is Hallelujah Acres, www.hacres.com. We highly recommend Rhonda Malkmus’ cookbooks, but you will find most of her recipes for free at the www.hacres.com site.

Dr. George Malkmus, of Hallelujah Acres, also recovered from colon cancer many years ago. His program follows closely that of the other successful doctors that we mentioned in this field. Each has a few different nuances, but basically they are all pretty much the same. The physician who recovered from breast cancer that I followed in my own recovery was an orthopedic surgeon who taught student doctors in Loma Linda University in San Francisco, California, and headed her hospital’s orthopedics department. Her web site is www.drday.com. We recommend one DVD in particular by Dr. Day, You Can’t Improve on God. That DVD is aimed at cancer but, as you already know, that same program also cured (yes CURED) my arthritis and allergies. That one really is all you need. Her entire program is on that DVD.  But of course her other DVDs,  Cancer Doesn’t Scare Me Any More and Drugs Don’t Cure Disease, are interesting and encouraging but you do not need them.

You do need a masticating or screw-type juicer. A centrifugal juicer, the kind with the spinning basket, should be avoided because it exposes the juice to too much air, although any juicer is better than no juicer. At Four Flags Journal, we have two Champion juicers for 220 power here in South America. Champion is a masticating juicer.  Dr. Malkmus has done quite a bit of experimenting with juicers, testing the nutrition in the juice from each juicer and recording the results. You can find that study at the Hallelujah Acres site.

We sincerely hope that we will hear more wonderful success stories from more of our subscribers  in coming months and years. That’s our goal. With best wishes for your good health . . . until next week . . .
